New Field and Updates

Hey guys I'm back!

So it's been a few months since I've posted here, and a lot has happened in my life. Anyways, we have a field in Pope Valley that we're going to start playing at, I have yet to see it first hand but sounds like it will be a mix of CQB and "air-ball". They're working on setting up bunkers and cleaning up the field now, and we're planning a game on the 24th.

So far 3 people have found out about us via this blog, heck type in "Napa airsoft" into your Google search bar and we are second only to the Yellow Pages. "Napa airsoft team" comes up with us in first place, so we have some decent search cred.  If you've thought about playing with us, quit thinking and join in on the fun! There should be a lot more wars this summer, the Pied Piper and Wolverine will be helping with coordination of them.

Will post more soon,

Hiatus for Awhile

Hey guys I'm beginning a new chapter in life and it will consume me until the start of June, so posting here will be intermittent. We will have some wars, especially over Spring Break and such. Come this summer things should really start flying. If you guys have any suggestions, new topic ideas, etc, let me know.

Full auto all the way,

Filming in Airsoft

How to film an airsoft war is a question that myself and countless others have asked. If you have a nice digital camera or even an iPhone, how do you keep it protected from scores of BBs flying you? If it got hit that could mean a broken screen, button, lens, etc.

For a while I'd thought about having glass to go over the lens, and then a box with a machine screw in the bottom to act as a tripod mount. There are circular holes in the sides of the box to allow for sound, and these are covered by computer fan covers.

For an iPhone/iPod Touch (4g), a small wooden perimeter with pieces of glass on both sides would protect the camera and the screen. Letting sound through via small holes in the perimeter would is probably the way to go.

I'm going to build one of each for my digital camera and iPod Touch (which will hopefully soon be replaced by an iPhone :-). If you guys have any comments or suggestions, comment here or email me! I appreciate those of you who have given feedback via email, it's cool to get in touch!

Laters,

Another War

So we had another war today, about 11 people showed up (pretty nice for the smaller group that we are). Had a blast, did some CTF, Team Elimination, etc.

What I'd really like to talk about though is how to move onward and
